 Honey Lemon Water Recipe

Combine:

  • Juice from ¼ to ½ of a lemon
  • 1 cup of freshly boiled, slightly cooled water (just warm enough to melt the honey, any hotter will remove the nutritional value)

Mix gently in your Libre glass and enjoy.

For a bit of a citrus twist try using limes, oranges or grapefruit for an afternoon refreshment.

I always add some fresh ginger (tip- buy a fairly large piece of organic ginger, break it into smaller pieces and individually freeze – that way you always have fresh ginger on hand ). I also enjoy adding cinnamon to my honey lemon water, especially in the colder months – it’s a cozy twist.

I recently started having hot water with a slice of lemon every morning before breakfast and have felt a lift from it. I have not tried adding honey to this although I do add it to some smoothies. I am cutting out convenience foods and trying to have a more natural food intake.

I keep washed whole lemons in the freezer so I can have them available at all times. I just pull them out and grate them into my water or hot tea.

I actually enjoy drinking this mixture warm. It really feels good on those cold mornings or just whenever. When I am sick I also like to drink it as the honey aids with my throat and the lemon adds a nice kick to plain water.
