Here’s a new hobby we like – blending our own teas and tisanes. Have you tried making your own teas/tisanes? So many garden herbs make great teas and purchased herbs and dried berries can make great blends. Our favorite right now is dried roses, chrysanthemums, and goji berries – calming, cooling and antioxidant all in one – pick your favorite flavours and experiment.

And here are a few of the herbs/plants you might want to include:

Basil, thyme, rosemary, rose petals, mint, and oregano, peppermint, marjoram, hyssop, rosemary, raspberry, lavender, fennel, dill, lemon grass, lemon verbena, chrysanthemum flowers, catnip and chamomile.

These herbs and flower can also be added to your green and black tea to add a different flavour. A lot of these plants can be grown indoors making them great for the indoor gardener/tea maker all year around!

    Lemon Balm, Rose Hips, Ginger, Chamomile would be my tea blend – one that’s sweet and soothing at the same time.
    When I take good care of myself, then I’ll have the strength to take care of others.

    I usually just drink plain green tea, so I am actually at a loss on these herbs and flowers. But I want to try new things.

    Mine would be peppermint and cacao nibs. I would call it Peppermint Patty Tea. YUM!

    I like to mix green tea with fresh mint or sometimes rosemary that I grow in my back yard.

    I would blend Hyssop, Lemon Balm and Indian Tea (a Northwest Coast Native American “secret” cure all). I am fortunate enough to live on the Northwest Coast where Indian Tea is readily availiable. We keep a pot on the stove 24 hrs. a day!

    Start with a mellow Chinese green tea, add dried raspberries, lemon verbena leaves and perhaps a dash of tangerine essence. Bright-tasting, colorful and refreshing. Call it, “Young Love”.

    I would blend green tea with raspberry and some orange. As for a name, As for a name, Afternoon Delight. I just love fruity tastes and that is how this tea would be.
