February is the Month of Love, not just Feb. 14th, every day is a perfect day to express our love for those around us.  Giving the gift of ourselves, our time and full attention, is a great way to express our love to one another.

What can we do to express and feel loved? By living in the moment, become aware of all that you have (family, friends, a job, a place to live, etc.) and show gratitude for these gifts. We may not always feel like showing our love for others and at times, we may feel unloved.

I’ve had the lyrics to ‘Love is in the Air’ sung by John Paul Young on replay in my head lately.

Love is in the air, everywhere I look around
Love is in the air, every sight and every sound

Love is in the air, in the whisper of the trees,
Love is in the air, in the thunder of the sea,

Love is in the air, in the rising of the sun,
Love is in the air, when the day is nearly done,

The lyrics fit so well with having gratitude and becoming aware of our surroundings, using all senses to experience the love we share with each other as well as ourselves.

osho quoteMeditation allows our emotional and spiritual selves to connect and work together for personal growth and health. Meditation helps us physically too, by lowering blood pressure, lower cholesterol levels, improves immune function and more.

When meditating, we are quieting our surroundings so that we can focus on ourselves. We can see with our minds eye what thoughts and feelings need attention, which can go on the back burner and which we can let go.

One song that awakens my gratitude awareness is “all you need is love” by the Beatles. Even the song title does this.

The song that awakens my gratitude is “Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning?”. I am grateful for all those who lost their lives saving others that day…and the ones that put their lives on the line every day so that we can all be safe.

“I’m Walking on Sunshine.” What better way to warm up in the morning, than with my favorite tea. It puts the sunshine in me.

I am going to sound a little off here but I recently heard this song sung in church and it really awakened something in me that I thought I had lost. It’s called “All Is Well” , which is a song telling friends and family, that this person is exactly where they need to be and that their soul is well and at peace.

I think about that a lot and wonder what would it take for a whole planet or even just one city to just say, All is Well? When that can be said, I think we might have half the battle won without even having to fire a shot!

    “Happy Birthday”
Today is my birthday, and while some people cringe at the thought of getting older, it really is a privilege denied to many. Celebrating with friends and family just made it that much better.

‘These arms of mine’ by Otis Redding is a wonderful heart felt and beautiful song. You can hear and feel the tenderness and passion as it is sung with complete perfection. A perfect song for any occation but a special way to convey your feelings to that special someone if the words fail you. Love to everyone out there, human, animal and to the planet

When I sing during worship service each Sunday, I’m reminded of God’s love for me and how grateful I am to have him caring for me.

I’ve been listening to 10,000 Reasons by Matt Redmond lately in the car. I have a couple versions that I listen to.

Eclipse by John Denver; to me, the song gives a message that peace will come when we start caring about our planet; it makes me do better and appreciate our wonderful earth.

“To The Edge of The Earth” by Micheal Nyman – the soundtrack from the film, The Piano. So wild and beautiful and aching – like many Beethoven piano pieces as well – makes me grateful for all the love in my life and want to hug all my people :-).
