Spring is in the air! It’s time to do our spring cleansing – in our homes and our bodies.

We want to clean out the old, the worn, and the tired. We’d like to create a healthier place of clarity for peace and inspiration.

To cleanse our bodies there are several important areas to consider – the colon, liver and kidneys are key and additionally a blood cleanse can be helpful for your overall system. As well skin sloughing (gentle exfoliates and then natural skin moisturizers like tea seed oil) addresses the largest organ of your body.

I regularly drink Dandelion green tea, it has a mix of a few other herbs and flowers but I don’t believe those are for detox, more for flavor. I also enjoy lemongrass. Black pepper was new to me and I’ll be looking for a great mix to Spring clean myself.

My go to cleansing herb is ginger and lemon tea with a little bit of apple cider vinegar. I also love nettle tea. Nettles are one of the first foods to pop up in the spring, as well as salmonberry shoots. I like to pick nettles and throw a bunch into a soup or stir fry. Later when they are larger, I dry some for tea. Salmonberry shoots are so delicious me and my kids wander around our property eating to our hearts content.
