Recently I got to take a trip to Lake Placid, NY to support my friends as they competed in their first Ironman triathlon! Shortly after the swim started, the rain began; then the lightning began striking. It was an exhilarating (terrifying) start to the day. The weather cleared up eventually and it was incredibly exciting to witness all of the athletes doing their thing!

Of course my favorite summer refreshment is iced tea!

So far no adventuring any further than the dance studio, lol…but come PNE time…we will be performing onstage at the PNE! The adventure of creating new choreography, meeting new friends, reconnecting with old friends, making new memories…every day is a new adventure. The excitement is building and we can’t wait!

I have been fortunate to have two exciting summer adventures thus far.
    1. I visited NYC for the first time this summer. I instantly fell in love with the city, especially Central Park. The city can be very intoxicating and instantly relaxing because of the park! To visit such a large urban area with tons of people, endless traffic, constant commotion, can be so fun and distracting, but then to be sitting in a green area not far from where you just were, not having a care in the world is absolutely amazing. It’s like you are instantly transported miles away but you are just blocks away.

    2. I had a lovely yoga practice in my backyard last week. Not that my backyard is new to me or special from others or that my practice was great….but your perspective changes when you are in the asanas. You see the sky, grass, animals, plants, shrubs, flowers and trees in a way you haven’t before. It was all so new and memorable. I will certainly be practicing in different areas of the yard until the weather gets colder. I highly recommend it to everyone.

This summer I have been drinking a lot of iced green tea and the occasional mojito. Cheers!

It’s not a big adventure but I did the Grouse Grind for the first time this summer. For anyone who doesn’t know, it’s a 1-2 hour steep hike up Grouse Mountain on the north shore of Vancouver. I went up with two of my best friends. It was something I felt that I needed to do after the passing of a very close friend of mine. She was always doing adventures. Needless to say it was difficult but an amazing experience.

My top summer adventure so far is the choice that my significant other and I have made, which is to live healthier lives. Because of this decision, we have spent our summer days together being active outdoors such as hiking, running at the beach, and jogging at our local park. Not only do I get to exercise outdoors with my significant other, but it is also a chance to spend time together talking, laughing, and learning about each other. Although it can be challenging to stay active throughout the week, I am grateful that when one of us is lacking in motivation the other tries to find it. We may have started this adventure this summer, but I hope to experience it for many more seasons that come our way. Just like I hope to continue exploring the world of tea, which is fairly new and exciting to me. Besides, who says we can’t have some tea with a little adventure?

Sadly, no summer adventure for me. Been spending money on upgrading our bathroom instead.

We have spent most of the summer at the lake where we’ve had more company than any other year. It’s been great. I’ve been drinking a lot of iced tea and a few gin and tonics (with cucumber slices).

So far my favourite summer adventure was our trip to Waterton National Park. My daughter absolutely loved being out in nature (she is just like her mom and dad). I felt at peace when I was there with my family. Very enjoyable and relaxing experience.

My favourite summer adventure was a road trip to Tofino BC! Being at the ocean with huge crashing waves, taking walks on give beach in the fog and exploring all the local artisans was so memorable!

Hiking in Whistler! We went to the top of Whistler Mountain and did the High Note Trail. It was challenging and beautiful! Better yet, we did the Scandinave Spa with massages the next day. It was a good birthday!
