Remembrance Day is this Monday! Libre would like to encourage you to take the time to pause and give thanks for all those who have given so much to secure our freedom. What freedoms do you love, which ones do you take for granted – reflect and renew your appreciation for all we have.

Every Remembrance Day he came for tea (and scotch!) and was a vivid reminder of our country’s heroism” – Adrienne Clarkson

In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army

IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, flyRemember Flander's Fields Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

The cycle of life and death and some who would sacrifice so much for the freedoms we sometimes take for granted.  Deep gratitude for all who have sacrificed and the freedoms won for our families, the future and us.

Our tea moments this weekend give us the perfect opportunity to reflect on the freedoms and those who gave so much and all we have gained through their sacrifice.

What freedoms are you thankful for? Or share a family memory tea moment with us for a chance to win a Libre Tea glass of your choice.

I am thankful for plentiful food, clean water, a roof over our head – and a pluralistic society that hums along smoothly, most of the time. For all of that, I proudly wear a poppy.

I am so thankful that my family is free to express themselves without fear. For the freedom to vote and mostly for freedom of religion. I am thankful that we are free to make our own choices, in work, education, lifestyle, in how we dress, in almost everything. When you really think about it we are so very blessed, and I am so thankful for the men and women who risk their lives every day to allow us these freedoms. God Bless America!

Thankful that I sat next to next the mother of a soldier on a flight home last month. We exchanged contact info and I just finished knitting a hat and wrist warmers that will be shipped to Afghanastan.

I am thankful for everything that I have physically, emotionally, and mentally.

I feel blessed that I have a loving family. Especially my loving, patient, and understanding husband with all my passions and hobbies. We have our differences but he knows how to get me to express my feelings when I have always had a hard time expressing any type of emotion.

I am thankful that I have two wonderful dogs that are well trained with other dogs and children. I love how they like to spend time with me and cuddle.

I am thankful for that warm cup of tea that I have when I share a good conversation with old friends reconnecting.

I’m thankful to live in a country that we can be who we want to be, that we have access to decent heath care, that we can walk the streets and feel relatively safe.

I’m thankful for all the freedoms we have, especially when we hear awful news about the limitations of freedoms that many people have in several places around the world.

I’m thankful for the many Freedoms we have in the United States. And I’m grateful for the support of friends and family, plus the veterans past and present who served our country and allow our freedoms to exist.
